Protecting vulnerable individuals is one of the most important responsibilities of every Direct Support Professional (DSP), caregiver, Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), and provider. This comprehensive training equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to recognize, prevent, respond to, and report abuse, neglect, and exploitation in accordance with Arizona Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) requirements.
Participants will learn the legal definitions of abuse, neglect, and exploitation; identify warning signs and risk factors; understand mandatory reporting requirements; and develop strategies to promote safety, dignity, and person-centered support. Through real-world scenarios and interactive discussions, learners will gain confidence in responding appropriately while protecting the health, welfare, and rights of individuals receiving services.
